(now you have the ROSS song stuck in your head)
This week I got a cute leaf bowl and vintage looking turkey plates at ROSS… We were at ROSS to pick up some shoes for Eli, because he only has one pair at the moment – Rainbows (filp flops) that are 2 sizes too small (once again I get the Mother of the Year Award). I saw the bowl and plates and instantly fell in love. I ran over to Hot Hubby to show him my amazing find and the conversation went like this…
Me: OMGosh! Look at these! The plates are only $2.50. Is this an awesome find or what??
HH: What are we going to use the plates for?
Me: Um… to eat off of… duh!
HH: We have plates.
Me: Yeah, but these look like vintage plates and we can use them in the Fall. It will be festive! It will totally become an enduring memory for our children… they’ll remember our Autumn candlelit dinners with these plates forever. Then when we die they’ll fight over them.
HH: Um…OK. What are you going to do with a leaf bowl? Me: An easier question to answer would be, what can’t I do with a leaf bowl?? I can put anything in it for potlucks and when I have to make something for big family gatherings. AND everyone will say how awesome it is because it’s a bowl that looks like a leaf… are you not seeing how adorable that is??
HH: You never have to make anything for big family gatherings because everybody knows you suck at cooking aren’t blessed in the kitchen.
Me: So you think I shouldn’t get the delightful leaf bowl?
HH: Well, if you can find a good use for it…
Me: I’ll eat my cereal out of it if I have to…
And I did!

The leaf bowl is super cute right? I was beginning to think I was crazy. Brad could have at least pretended to be into it… I mean I pretended to be into his new mountain bike chain cleaner thing. HA!
Just popped on FB to see what you were up to and G looks like a miniature of your hubby and R looks like a mini you!! I bet you hear that all the time though 🙂 (don’t know if you put their names on the net)

Thank you Kara – I could say the same of your “mini me” children! LOL 🙂 They’re all so darn adorable! I’m loving your blog too. You’re a natural! I’m so happy for you.

I would be disappointed in you if you DIDN’T get these amazing dishes. Total score! This is a frequent topic of conversation in my house, but over glasses & stemware. I’m shameless! But I’m pleased to report that someone has drank out of ever cup I’m purchased.

Love it!
I have to figure out a fun way to display my plates (not hanging on the wall because we use them) then I would have a better justification because they serve as décor too. If you have any ideas (because you are awesome at that stuff!) send them my way!

I love em’!!
The Sweet Pea hat went in the mail today. He’s still going to be it right?
I actually think I’ll be modifying the pattern for an Eli’s Lid style… in tweed!

Adorable post! I love all the dishes. So glad you got them–what a deal! 🙂
Eli's Lids says
LOL! Me too! Ross’s home wares section is such a weakness for me. The deals are re-donk-ulis!

I love your determination and follow-through! HAHA!

So worth it! I didn’t even have to bring out the big guns while convincing Brad (aka lingerie!).
